What it does in your body

Myo-Inositol is a type of sugar (polyol), but it is not metabolized like ordinary glucose.

It participates in transmitting the insulin signal inside the cell, simply put, it helps cells “hear” insulin.

The body makes about 2 grams a day. The rest comes from food: citrus, pulses and whole grains carry the most.

Inside cells, myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol (DCI) sit in a natural 40:1 ratio. That is why serious supplements use pure myo-inositol rather than standalone D-chiro: a large amount of DCI shifts the ratio. Check the label: if it just says "inositol" without naming which one, the maker either does not know the difference or is counting on you not to.

Natural source:

Produced naturally by the body and found in whole grains, beans, lentils, citrus fruits and nuts. Industrial myo-inositol is extracted from corn germ via a water-based process.

Why myo-inositol is in Corti-Glow

Why this ingredient specifically, not an alternative.

Myo-inositol is the most common of the nine inositol isomers: about 95% of the inositol in the body is this one.

2000 mg per sachet, written out on the box rather than folded into a proprietary blend.

Across 40+ clinical trials in women, better insulin sensitivity, fewer afternoon sugar cravings and more regular ovulation are observed.

When insulin is stable, testosterone and estrogen stop spiking, the cycle becomes more predictable.

How it works on the body

Mechanism, step by step.

1

Activates the insulin receptor

Myo-Inositol is a second messenger for insulin. Without it, the cell doesn't understand that insulin is “knocking on the door”.

2

Regulates blood sugar levels

Better glucose uptake into cells = fewer sugar spikes and crashes = fewer cravings for quick energy (sweets, bread).

3

Supports ovarian function

Myo-inositol takes part in signal transmission inside the cell. That is a description of the substance, not a promise of a result.

4

Reduces anxiety (indirectly)

Stable blood sugar = stable mood. Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) is often experienced as “anxiety”.

How it works with the other ingredients

7 ingredients. Each pair with a specific mechanism.

Not random supplements in one box. Every combination has a biological reason.

See Magnesium Bisglycinate

Mechanism

Before your cycle, insulin sensitivity drops and blood sugar becomes unstable in the evening. The sachet carries 2000 mg myo-inositol together with magnesium, which contributes to normal energy metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue (authorized claims, EFSA).

End benefit

More stable blood sugar in the days before your cycle, when insulin resistance usually worsens.

Why this exact dose in Corti-Glow

2000 mg, specific, not random.

  • 2000 mg per sachet, one sachet a day. A fixed dose, not something you measure with a spoon.
  • The amount is printed as its own line on the box, not folded into a blend total.
  • In a sachet that dissolves in water: better absorption than a capsule.
  • The effect is cumulative, daily 2000 mg works better than episodic higher doses.

Frequently asked questions

About myo-inositol.

What is the 40:1 myo-to-D-chiro inositol ratio?+
Inside cells, myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol sit in a natural 40:1 ratio. Myo is roughly 95% of the inositol in the body; D-chiro works in small amounts. That is why the sachet carries pure myo-inositol rather than standalone D-chiro.
Is Myo-Inositol only for women?+
It is not sex-specific. Myo-inositol is a substance the body makes on its own, about 2 grams a day, and takes in from citrus, pulses and whole grains.
How long does it take to see results?+
We will not put a date on it. Every body is different, and anyone who gives you an exact timetable is making it up. What we can tell you: one sachet every evening, not every other day, and a box is thirty evenings.
How much is in one sachet?+
Myo-Inositol is among the most-studied ingredients for afternoon sugar cravings and the days before your cycle, across 40+ clinical trials in women (see the studies above). If you notice an irregular cycle for 3+ months in a row, see a gynecologist for a diagnosis.
Can it be combined with metformin?+
If you take prescription medicines, talk to your doctor before adding any supplement. We will not compare this to a medicine: it is a food supplement, not a treatment, and presenting it as one would be both wrong and unlawful.
Can I combine it with hormonal birth control?+
Yes. Myo-Inositol does not affect the hormonal mechanism of oral contraceptives. Some women use it to reduce PMS symptoms during the placebo-pill days (when hormones drop).
Is it safe during pregnancy?+
The Corti-Glow formula is not tested for pregnancy. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before starting.
Why 2000 mg?+
2000 mg, the largest single amount in the sachet, printed on the box as its own line. For comparison, inositol capsules on the shelf typically hold 500 or 600 mg: you would need three or four of them to get here. That is why this is a sachet and not a pill.
Myo-Inositol vs generic inositol, what's the difference?+
„Inositol“ is an umbrella term, covers 9 isomers. Myo-inositol is roughly 95% of the inositol in the body. D-chiro-inositol works only in small amounts (40:1). If a label says just „inositol“ without a specifier, it's most likely myo-inositol.
Are there side effects?+
Myo-Inositol is one of the safest supplements studied. In trials using 4000 mg daily for 6+ months, side effects are under 5%, mostly mild nausea or diarrhea in the first week, which pass. Sachets in water absorb more gently than capsules.
This information is general and does not replace medical consultation. If you have a diagnosed condition, are pregnant, or are planning pregnancy, consult your doctor before supplements.
